So I got a mist king system and love it.however its been running amazingly for a month.I came home from work on monday to find about3.5 gallons of water on the hardwood floors.the 90 degree elbow was spewing water out like crazy when I cycled it to see what was happening.then I disconnected the hose and re installed it in case it was a loose connection and the problem persisted. Marty from mist king is good with his customer service and the parts are on the way.the only bad thing is now the floor is starting to come up...........

i always push the hose in all the way then use a small screw driver to pry the lock collar out, while pushing in on the hose, the quick connects often don't lock correctly unless you push and pry with a knife or screw driver, just pushing it in , then pulling out to make sure it's locked don't always work on quick connect fittings. I pry out on three sides while pushing in on the hose the whole time, hope this helps,

I ran short on hose once, and decided to use temporarily use the clear tubing from home depot... Big Mistake!!! That stuff is not rated to the carry the PSI the tubing MistKing or Herpmist sends you... Needless to say, worked for a bout a week... Then POP!!! The hose expanded like a balloon and popped, spewing water everywhere. In your case... you just got to really push that hose in sometimes... then give it a tug to make sure it isn't coming out. Same thing with the "T" connections. It sounds like you didn't have the "T" pushed into the top of the Nozzle enough. This happened whern I first set up my system.

I have one of those leaky bastards right now too....
It will be gone when the parts arrive. I needed to extent the line 3 feet and used a "L" to make it happen while the hose was on order. Hose should be here in a few days and problem solved. It was an extra that came with the kit and is no big deal, I have it in a cup to catch the drips. You on the other hand were not so lucky. Do you have flood insurance?? If so, I think a bathroom pipe busted and ruined your wood floor, and that priceless collection of Beatles records too!

Do you guys all have MistKing systems? I've never had that problem with my HerpMist set up. Just wondering.
Sorry about the elbow that popped. May have been a lemon that you got. New ones should be there any day. Out of a few thousand there's sometimes a defective one.
Also about fittings that may be popping out.. I had a bad batch of tubing that I returned because it was slightly under spec. Before I cought it, some of it may have been shipped out. If your tubing is popping out of a fitting PM me and I'll send you new tubing. If tubing is under spec, then it will be more likely to pop out, though it is not a given.
Just remember, if there's an issue, just let me know via Email or PM and I'll take care of things.

Everyone should remember to cut the hose as squarely as possible so that the tubing seats to the seal properly.
Another tip is to run just enough water in your tank to get through the day for the first few days to make sure the system is good.
Also pulling on the tubing from the fitting WHILE the system is on is another good 'stress test'.
Once my misting system got connected to house water I couldn't sleep well for a couple of nights in fear of flooding my entire apt. but no issues.... so far.... fawk I think I ginksed myself.

Misters...
I've used many different brands of "Misting Systems" and in the end something always go's bad?! I'm now using home depot supplies..tees and elbow connections with sprayers and drippers along with a hose thats hooked up to the water hose outside which is on a timer. I have never had any issues and it's been hooked up for 6+ months! And even better its a lot CHEAPER!

My husband designed a computer program board? guess that is what it is called. It controls the times and length of my misting system, which he also designed. It is mostly PVC tubes with these fancy mister things he orders off the internet. Worked great for over a year so far.

Yeah, I am actually pretty impressed that the owner actually took the time to write on chameleonforums. That really means a lot and for that I am definitely going to buy a misting system from him.
Personal relationships with the customers definitely are a win.

what sucks is, it sounds like you have real wood floors. depending on how bad it is, it will cup or crown.
really the best way to fix the problem is to add heat+ dryness to the affected area, a fan with a dehumidifier directly on the spot should help the floor un cup.
after a certain point, you'll only be able to fix only so much of the damage, you may have to higher a company to come in and sand down the floor and refinish the surface.
i do have the herpmist myself, yesterday i actually caught it before it got bad, one of the joints popped out i was suprised as pressure dropped and it was spewing water on the floor. but honestly these occurances are rare and random, really a freak of nature if it does give, these systems are almost perfect, with the aspect of user error.

Have a mistking but not a fan of the easy-connect system. i may be in the minority, but i'd love to have "male" ends on the pump that you could fit a hose over and clamp. The easy-connect system just seems more prone to failure. My opinion- like the product, like the company. I'm sure that there is a design reason for the easy-connect, probably the low profile hoses.
