Adam - locale refers to the color pattern variations of panther chameleons (furcifer pardalis). They are all the same species (Furcifer pardalis) but they're designated by their locales because the patterns originate from the islands or regions of Madagascar from which the chameleons live. For example: Nosey Be chams are generally very blue and came from Nosy Be island, but are still panther chameleons. So the locale he's looking for is a particular color type of panther chameleon, not just any panther.
