Kidney failure

The vet said yesterday they’re 2x his size. But she had mixed feelings on putting him down. WHY YOU ASSHOLE. Now I have a comfortable cage for a dying lizard. My heart is breaking into a million pieces. I’m watching him suffer and I spent over $500 for this. I knew nothing about chameleon kidney failure and you said he might make it. Everyone online says he won’t and Keeping them alive is inhuman. I can see why.

Well if that’s the case can’t you go to some other vet to try to putt him to sleep..? I’m so sorry for your little guy..

unfortunately they’re closed today and tomorrow. So I’m making him as comfortable as possible. He will probably go soon ?

He’s only 3.5 so relatively young. The vet said it could have been slight dehydration at some point or too much vitamin A. Were quarantined & I gave him soooo much water last week. Just confused how. She said chameleons are sensitive & one change can trigger a huge impact. We cleaned his cage last week. Could be what set him off too. So so sad.
Giving him water every 1.5 hours with a syringe and he’s under a lamp with a fogger. He’s on the floor of the cage in moss/a hospital cloth. Prayers for the little guy.

Thanks man. This day can suck it. Might as well let him go in peace now. Moving him & taking him to be euthanized could be toiling on him.

Honestly, kidney failure is a pretty easy death. If i was a dying cham, id want that vs most of the other ways. It will be painless, and the cham will basically shrink and have sunkin eyes. He probably will want to drink a lot of water.

that’s what’s happening. One eye is swollen. He’s still looking at me though. Heart breaking. He’s getting another syringe of water soon. He’s struggling to swallow tho.

he took the food paste and water. he got a warm water bath in the sink. Hope and pray now.

Are you easing the water in and making sure it's not going into his lungs? Will he not drink from a drop or on his own?

Why did the vet say it's kidney failure? Did he run tests?
What supplements specifically have you been using and how often for each? What vitamin A (preformed or prOformed?) do they have in them and do they have D3?

Woah there. He has met the rainbow bridge. We found out he also had high counts of white blood cells and we were beginning antibiotic treatment but it was too late. My poor man has passed on.

Always. Trying to decide if we should bury or take him to the vet Monday. Ideas?
