So its with an extremely heavy heart despite how long we got with Neptune that I make the official post of his passing. Earlier today I took him into the vet to be put down due to what I think was severe kidney failure and the vet said he was in septic shock. I am so glad I made the decision I did when I did. But it doesn't take away the grief I feel after losing him.
Neptune was a rescue chameleon that got shipping by a very wonderful person from the forums. She got him stable and then I did the rest of the work to get him healthy. He came from a very bad situation of severe neglect. I spent the first 2 months doing supportive care for him. He ended up living to be just under 14 years old (we aren't sure his birthday but he was about a year-eighteen months when he came to me). At the turn of the new year he would have been officially 14 give or take. He was a sassy old man who had no fear when it came to showing his opinion and biting if necessary (which in his opinion was often unless i was taking him outside lol).
