Isopod "attack" ?

last night about midnight, I woke up because I could hear one of the chams moving about - I thought maybe it was just moving for some reason- but it kept up the noise - so I got my flashlight , and looked in on him - he had an isopod on his upper tail/back - so I went to brush it away - it did not move - it was bit on tight - I had to pick it off - this AM there is a black mark where it bit him - I have never heard of one biting in the night- I did not know they do that- or is this just a freak thing ? I dont want to leave those in if they do the like crix at night :(

I haven't heard of them attacking, but they LOVE eating shed skin that I toss in with them so I could see them going after skin.

thats what I thought too- it was after the skin , not so much his flesh - but still- now I will worry :( ( one more thing to add to the list of a million other things  ) should I throw a bunch of dead skin in there - lol  there is NO WAY to get all those out of his cage ( terrarium ) should I tear it down ? or maybe this was just a crazy one - he has no other bites on him, and as I said, I have never seen this before - I just dont want him to get bit again by another - I will drive Dave nuts tonight getting up every hr and checking on him all night :p

leave alternative food for the isopods in the cage and I doubt it will happen again. especially ensure there is sufficient calcium available.

in addition to chameleon skin, shed skin from mealworms / superworms is also enjoyed by isopods

he is in a big terrarium, so I thought there would be enough stuff for them, but I will leave his sheds in, and also add some- its the one and only time I have seen this happen, but now I check before I go to bed just to be sure nothing is on him - so far, no more have done this - thanks for all the help guys :)
