good strategy..like i said before dont get discouraged this species can and will bring alot of joy in your life..you just have toreasearch, have a game plan formed, time management, and stick to it..remain fluid/flexibile and have all tools needed for care. Bummer,she must be too sick to get that injection,when the cham is already weaken in the conditions that she was,especially they can hide their sick dehydration appearence well,that injection must shock her more.I wish I read ur thread earlier,all she need is plenty of water,I bet her kidney is already damaged .
Picture her eyes is like a half fill water balloon,the more water she drank the balloon gets fuller.

Like I said ,that shot must shock her on her tiny weaken body,I can already picture her .....stiff like a dead door knob....its a tragedy that she didnt make it .
U can close her eyes now n give her a proper burial in ur back yard with some flowers on top.

It's normal she turned black around the injection spot, chameleons bruise. However I do agree she was in a weakened state and probably died from shock. Orally administered water with an oral syringe is an easier way to get water into a chance who is severely dehydrated and won't be able to drink enough on their own. I only use vet administered fluids if they are healthy enough to survive a vet visit.

Honestly if I had been on and was able to respond in time I would have suggested it. You have to be careful about asperation but with chameleons it actually easier to avoid than with most mammals. Just put the syringe back into their throat even if they gag and give them a little bit at a time, pulling out every now and then to allow them to swallow. They rarely ever asperate if you do it right. I have done it with a lot of my rescues.

she said they gave it to the chameleon in a insulin needle.
Thats how much we charge for sq fluids in the clinic i volunteer in for dogs. They gave him .01 mls thats a drop literal.

Yeah but it's an exotic vet. And though my exotic vet actually charges less than most dog stuff, I actually have a very good exotic vet and she charges very less compared to most reptile specialists. However compared to other places around here yours is relatively cheap.
In my opinion,all she need is as simple with water n feeder,since u mentioned she still eats n drink,she just need more water to get that sunken eye fix.

I'm very sorry.
I lost a beautiful quadricornis after a vet made a mistake and nicked an artery or vein in the neck and the animal bled out.
Where did your vet give the fluids? Of course, the vet's work might have nothing to do with your baby dying, but if it were me, I would like to know if it was vet error.
Again, sorry for your loss.
