How do you ship turtles in the mail?

Hi, well i am finally selling my rare turtle and that means I finally can afford Darwin his screen cage and lights! but got any tips with shipping them? I have the containor it came in from turtlesale.com. and its still small enough to fit in it. i know i need a box to fit it in overnight shipping and handeling packing peanuts ofcours.. any thing im missing?

why dont you contact turtlesale.com and ask them what their shipping procedures are? i would be careful shipping anything right now with it being summer and all unless you have experience with it. Just trying to look out for the well being of the turtle here.

yup i posted it on turtleshack.coms wall since they are merged. (im a turtle geek ) lol and just wanted to see if i had everything down I am putting in an ice pack with her/him to keep her cool. its getting shipped to MD

Why haven't you been researching this beforehand? Ask around locally and see if anyone with shipping experience will help you... maybe a pet shop, etc..

Wish you the best getting those out, hopefully this will pay for vet expenses.

Just slap some stamps on it's shell and put it in the mail box. It works with coconuts .

I asked and not much help the petshop doesn't ship anything out they get things shipped to them. D: and hopefully it will pay for the vet expenses.. I just got some multi-vitamin today so im getting there as fast as i can! I have breeders that i talk to on Facebook i will ask them! thanks for the ideas!

If this is the case, pay VERY close attention to shipping instructions. Make sure it's not too hot on either end... you are responsible if that turtle doesn't make it.

yup I am getting help on KS chat. and from my facebook friends. and turtleshack.com soon hopefully. its actually sounding simple. so far. and yes i know im responsible for the turtle. im glad i have tons of experience with them. they are REALLY tough! lol. im not shipping it out until Thursday. so i can get everything perfect.

alrighty! i don't really understand that website much so i am going straight to the UPS store and getting the supplies and hopefully shipping it out wed. or thurs. I got it all figured out too! You all are a great help thanks!
