Welcome to the forum
A lot has changed in 10 years, since the internet has made it possible for
cham keepers to exchange info which has never been available from any book.
I got my first chams (flapneck and Jacksons) in the 70's
Back then, no one knew a thing about how to keep them alive for more then
a few months.
I got them from an exotic pet store near Capital Hill in Washington, DC.
Even the store owner knew nothing! I remember him telling me they come
from Mexico, and require a 'desert like" environment.
So I had them in glass terrariums, with rocks and sand as a substrate!
I called every zoo I could think of that keeps reptiles and was always told the same thing, you CANT keep them alive in captivity!!
I even went to Cornell U library to find the only known book on chams, but
it was in German!!
I did manage to learn a great deal before they died though simply by observation.
Proper husbandry for chams was a slow learning process for years, even when the internet was born.
