Coloration of my female carpet chameleon

Hello friends,
After a few years and a handful of vivariums under my belt, I have decided to get a carpet chameleon. She is currently 3-4months old. She is perfectly healthy, but I’m a bit disappointed that she’s just a light green animal, not the brightly displayed one like the ones I’ve seen in photos. Is she going to undergo dramatic transformation as she matures, or this is basically it?

This is basically it unless you mate her or she produces eggs. She will get pinkish purple dots near her head (maybe) if she produces eggs. Other than that unless you mate her she stays pretty green. Make her mad and you’ll see her colors too but not nearly as intense as if she mates. Those colors you see are gravid females (mated girls most likely)
Sorry to disappoint you, I just lost my 2 1/2 yr old female and I can say, she may not have colored a ton but they have quite the personality and are very beautiful at times.
Enjoy her, their lifespan is here and gone in no time. 💗

You probably want to get another cage and buy a male. And let them see each other from afar and let them fire up with their dramatic colors. Haha

This is when she was excitedly hunting one day. I happily snapped a few shots because she was not so green. They do throw some change, just not drastic like you see.
