He LOVES snails!

My snails have not gotten it on yet, no babies :( maybe I need to play some snail mood music. If my Cham hates them I'll laugh. What will I do with all these snails. WHEN they make snails that is.

Haha. Play some snail mood music! Hey, if it works, let me know! Mine haven't had any babies either.... and I just found one dead!! Only 2 left now. Come on baby machines!

Aren't the cages suppose to be cleaned out once a week? I'm guessing mine died from eating its own poop.. I found it upside down in a container I filled with water and rocks.. Or maybe it drowned? I have the rocks filled up to the top though. I just hope another one doesn't die. I cleaned the cage out. I need to put more leaves in the cage.

Can I put Umbrella plant leaves in the cage instead of outdoor leaves? I worry about bringing in parasites.

I also notice two little fast moving bugs in the soil and one was crawling on a piece of apple I had placed yesterday morning. Are these mites? Should I change out the soil? Could they be harmful? One snail is out of his shell but his eyes are sunken in his body. I'm not sure if hes sleeping or what.. I always thought they slept inside their shells..

AH! Another of my snails died. :( One left. I wonder what I'm doing wrong. Maybe its too cold or too moist? I spray twice a day. The water isn't warm though. Maybe room temp water sprayed on them causes a colder temp in their cage? I did read somewhere that I was suppose to spray warm water. I cleaned the cage a few days ago. I just pick up all the poop and spray the sides of the cage with water and wipe it.

Ive been meaning to purchase about 16-18 snails from the nile website. It'll only cost a little over $20! Just need to get down to that office to get a permit. x.x

I'm sorry you lost another one. :( I use filtered tap water, and it's usually room temperature, so I don't think the water has to be warm. Is there so much water that it's standing in the bottom of the cage? If so, that's probably too much. Maybe the chlorine (if it's city water and not well water) in the water hurts them like it does fish? What are you using for substrate?

I'm using regular potting soil and that's it. It's moist and not very damp. Not sure if the water has chlorine but I do buy distilled water, I could try to use that instead. There is about 2-3 inches of soil down.

Thanks for the help! How are your baby snails Melissa? Are they still multiplying?

I hope you get some babies, soon. Maybe the one that passed laid eggs before it died. Mine are still producing, but not as many as before. Not sure if it's because they're not quite as warm as they were, but I did find about 15 new babies.

It would be really nice if it did! But the 3 didn't seem to interested in each other. :p The two that died also seemed a lot smaller than the one that is still alive, maybe they weren't mature enough? I'll have no problem when I buy the 18 pack of snails! Hopefully I won't be over run with them since I can't let them outside and their too cute @_@! I'll take a picture of the size difference in a second.

I'm going to look around the dirt to see if it did.. Just incase :p
