Ok you threw me off with this comment you just made. Because the arcadia compact UVB is entirely different from the T5HO fixture with the 6%. As long as it is the T5HO fixture and the 6% you would have basking branch 8-9 inches below this fixture to get an approximate 3 UVI so that would be correct if that is what you have. It was just the word compact that worried me.I hope your using a solarmeter 6.5 to check your UVI level with that compact. Even with it being an Arcadia bulb you should never use these without a solarmeter to ensure your getting the correct UVI level.... Too close and overexposure is a risk to far and underexposure is a risk with the development of MBD.
Beman as always your advice is much appreciated. I purchased the 24” Arcadia T5HO 6% bulb + fixture and put it atop my 24” x 24” x 48” screen enclosure, 8” from her basking spot as recommend in a prior post by MissSkittles. Do I still need to spend $265.00 (approx) on a Solarmeter 6.5? In your experience does UVI level vary that much from one 6% Arcadia bulb to the next to justify that investment?
I switched from the Slimline to the Arcadia compact UVB.
