Does Bean have MBD??!!!

If it were me I would try everything. Honestly looking at her she is alert, eyes open, Turrets are not sunken in. But she is huge and maybe getting those eggs out and spaying her would give her a fighting chance. Like I said before surgery is always risky with these guys. Ask how many times they have performed a spay on a chameleon.
The ER vet I got her into doesn’t specialize in that so that’s why I’m stuck. I can call another one right @ 8am in the morning tomorrow & pray that she can get into that one. They got filled up again fast today when I called.

Got her in to the one ER vet. Got a calcium shot. Recommended surgery, but says the chances of her surviving it is very slim. Recommends to put her down. I’m just so heart broken & I couldn’t stop crying. Need to talk to my daughter to see what she would like to do.
May I ask for your opinion please?
Hi I own a female with lots of reproductive problems and my opinion here is euthanizing her is the nicest thing you can do for her at this point. With the way her legs are turned shows she has weak muscles.

If you do the surgery and it’s not done right there is still a chance she will produce eggs if they don’t get everything out. With these reptiles timing is everything and catching stuff right away is the best way to give them a fighting chance. I’m sorry your family is going throw this and I know how hard it is to see these guys decline 💜🙏

How did it go? I would be very hesitant on listening to a vet that does not know about chameleons also I would never let one perform surgery since this is more specialized. I really hope you can get her in with an actual specialist.
Next Thursday @ 4:30 is the earliest I can get her in. Yesterday took her outside because it was hot & she opened her mouth. We got calcium in her, today water & food hopefully if she’ll open again. And we also are getting her a hospital bin made.

Be extremely careful forcing anything into her mouth. Their airway is in the front. Also her overheating would not be helpful. You should call back and see if there is any way they can see her before then. Most vets you can pay extra for an emergency visit. Another week is a lot of time in her condition. I honestly do not know if she will make it that long.

Any updates on bean?
She’s still with us. Goes to the vet tomorrow afternoon. Has been drinking water once in awhile. We got her a worm a few days ago & then she pooped or something. But nothing since. Not sure what’s going to happen from here now. Happy she’s still here & she’s going to the vet. Praying good news & an amazing outcome. Still being realistic jic.

thank you for checking in. I was getting super stressed & major anxiety with everything

Good morning everyone!!! Sorry got my delay in replying. Started a new job so I’ve been working 2 now.
Bean is still here with us. She is stable & good. We have her in a lay bin with 2 uvb lights & her heat lamp & have it anywhere from 89-93 daily 12-14 hours. We hope she lays her eggs in the next 7-10 days(Thursday evening). If not then the vet wants her back to do oxytocin shots. And then if that still doesn’t work we will have her spayed & she should live a full life. I have a better understanding of what we need to do for her so we will be doing some adjustments on her big cage & stuff now that falls around the corner & buy some other stuff as well.

Why so hot? That is like really really hot. Females should be kept 78-80 for basking. Why 2 UVB lights?

It does seem pretty hot like Beman said but hopefully she makes it sending prayers
