Do you believe in aliens?...

...and I don't mean those dudes at the car wash, I talk about life forms -not nescesarily little green dudes either- outside our solar system. Astronomers keep peering farther and farther into space, just to find more galaxies raising the possibilities of finding life beyond our cosmic backyard...

I just don't have it in me to believe we have the whole universe to ourselves. It may have taken a series of unrelated accidents to create out world, but we still can't be the only place some life forms exist.

But then most days I think I married an alien. I don't think I have ever meet at most 2 people who might be more intelligent than he is, it is scary. I would be happy with 1/10 of that brain - maybe he is from somewhere else.

Just two of MANY that gets you thinking.

I feel strongly about intelligent life being out there and its already proven that building blocks of life are out there. Methane gas, water, amino acids found in meteorites found on earth etc.

I think we have been visited in the past by intelligent life forms and still are today. The government just hides it today because it will cause mass chaos. However, I think some are trying to make it so "faith" is not interrupted when disclosure finally happens.;)

hmm.....that be cool if it was like that new movie "Paul".

but personally i believe so, both early and well developed life forms.

and as for "faith" i think its more fanatic people than "faith itself" JMHO.

i mean i have "faith" and yet i feel E.T came along time ago:rolleyes:

eh..im crazy i gues :/

LOl, I keep telling my wife it's evolution, atleast one sex needs to be the brains! :p :D :D :D

P.S Likewise, I just cannot muster the required arrogance to believe that such an incredible world filled with such an abundance and diversity of life, is just a 'one off' random fluke , alone in an infinite universe. Nor that evolution, which seems abundantly self evident to me, is not itself, 'an intelligent design'.

I dont hold to any specific notions about a 'designer', but im sure glad it's so. Not being alive must be very boring! :)

I beleive 100% that we aren't the only form of intelligent life out there. It seems pretty obvious to me.

I just wonder what exactly is out there. I mean look at how abstract life is on earth. Now think... What utterly insane-looking entities could be out there? And what are they composed of? Heres a link that some of you may find interesting...

“This microbe, if we are correct, has solved the challenge of being alive in a different way.”

An amazing story Steven,
life is an incredible and mysterious force, perhaps as the religious types say 'God really Is Life', literally.

As the bloke in Jurassic park said 'life, ..finds a way!' :)

Im beginning to edge toward the personal beleif that despite our notions, there is only life or the absence of it, which makes you and me being here to discuss it, all the more incredible! :)

There is speculation as to exactly how big of deal this actually is, considering some people beleive it is just a small amount of arsenic substituting for the similar chemical phosphorus.

I still find it amazing that a substance which would usually end life is now sustaining a form of it.

I think it's selfish for people to think that they are the smartest being in this whole universe. Lol! There is most certainly something out there, of course we or I don't know exactly what but there is. Including spirits and ghosts... Man, I have had some scary stuff happen to me.

What we need is a teletransporter kind of machine, decide what is the best planet where we may find "life" and explore...imagine we find a civilization that lives in harmony with their enviroment and peace with eachother, then we show up and begin to prode and analize them and then they all die off because we gave them the flu or something and...we go onto the next planet...who is good at building one of them teletransporting machines?...

sounds like christopher columbus : space expedition :p

but it is amazing....

because of "life" and intelligent beings such as ourselves we give everything meaning.

i just hope it wont be like Independence Day:eek:

if humans had the technology we would invade and conquer other life sustaining planets for resources...Avatar, and Independence Day-sadly we are like locusts:eek:

Dan you would like David, but then everyone likes David. Most all of the people who have ever worked with, or known him well, all agreed with me. He is light years ahead of most of us in brains and better still in the constant need to use, learn and create. Does made you wonder how he has survived marriage to me for almost 22 years.

When I think of infinite space and trillions x trillions of galaxies I know there is life out there somewhere. I think "of course"! There are incredible amounts of awesome, mind-blowingly-wonderful, things & lifeforms out there 99.999% of which we'll never know. The pictures & discoveries from the Hubble a other space probes was such a fascinating gift. I couldn't believe some of the amazing pics and discoveries!

Its a shame Obama has destroyed our space program:mad: I think we should be exploring the moon much more. There are lots of natural resources on it. This link is before Obama destroyed the space program. http://www.moondaily.com/reports/Moon_potential_goldmine_of_natural_resources_999.html

We have spent tons on the Constellation program just for it to be phased out. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=nasa-budget-constellation-cancel Now we are planning to land on an asteroid instead
http://www.tracking-system.com/news...tion/497-nasa-shoots-to-land-on-asteroid.html

I think we should be concentrating on the moon. For its resources and also to get manned flights further into space. We could build a station on it along with using its resources for a much more efficient fuel to get us further into space.

I know, a little off topic but:rolleyes: Here is one that is more on topic.

Also something to make you wonder. Go down and read the part about vimanas. Why are there plans for such vehicles made thousands of years ago? crystalinks.com has all kinds of cool stuff on it.

There are petroglyphs from all around the world, from many civilizations depicting flying kind of objects, beings wearing masks and body suits? Now is it wild imagination from the artists or just describing actual objects??
