Deep nest

How is it possible for a wild cham to dig itself out of a nest that is over a foot deep? It seems impossible! Has anyone ever left eggs in a deep nest?

Easily, they use their hands and legs to push the soil back over the eggs and work themselves back out of the nest. This is what they are supposed to do - the way nature intended it. Of course people have left the eggs in the location they were buried but it's more controlled if you dig the eggs and incubate them. In the wild, they stay in the soil and the temps are right to hatch.
