So I succeeded a little too well with my first breeding attempt. I used organic potting soil moistened daily and swapped it out for new soil every week for 3 weeks. I then put the containers of soil in a 10 gallon aquarium with a 50 watt heat lamp to incubate the eggs. It has now been about 1 1/2 weeks and I have thousands of crickets. I am blown away how much these things reproduce.

I am feeding them a cocktail of greens, carrots and squash as well as dusting calcium in with some oatmeal.

I will be golden as long as I don't have a prison break :)

Not complaining just shocked that it worked. I will likely save a ton of $$$. Seeing I was spending $20 a week in crickets.
