California Condors Return To Northern California

This is a video showing the type of weather California Condors can live in. This is a video of the Ventana California Condor Release site in the snow.

No luck seeing condors while in Cambria, but I did see one at the San Diego Zoo. Still not disappointed 😉.
That is great you got to view one in the San Diego Zoo.

California Condors similar to chameleons are best viewed in their natural habitats. Good luck spotting one. These birds are not easily spotted in the wild.

This older article talks some about the return of California Condors to the Pacific Northwest. That is specifically to the Yurok Tribe and Nez Perce Tribal lands. The Nez Perce Tribal reintroduction site is being planned to become a release site inland in about 5-7 years. That looks to be some time after/during the 2026-2030 time ETA of the new reintroduction site.

This is fantastic news! The Yurok tribe has worked so hard to being back this majestic bird to California. Actually held my breath during the fires that hit some of the redwoods in Big Sur. PCH 1 has been closed and just reopened. It sounds like the pair of Condors found a safe spot to nest. Let’s all ask the universe to protect this new pair to be successful parents.
Thanks for sharing Jeremy.

My honor to post about California Condors recovering here in California. I actually think I spotted a California Condor locally here in the California Mother Lode flying above a high ridgeline meadow a while ago. That is great news for recovering California Condor populations here in California. I aspire by posting about California Condors here in California that similar programs can be done for Endangered chameleon populations in native habitats over seas.
