Vitamin a liquid

So my husband has been wanting me to ask this question:
Would putting the vitamin a oil from a pill Hurt a chameleon in any way? Such as if you rubbed it on their casque, veil, body, Etc.?
We know that you can give it to them orally to help with nutrition and such, but can u put it on their body?

I don't think it would really help them in the same way as ingesting it. You can just put some on a cricket and be done with it.

Why would you want 2 do that?

I have heard of ppl rubbing vitE oil on their chams to help heal a wound.
I dont know if a reptiles skin can absorb and utilize things through the skin
like we do!!

P.S. If so, Noogie could sure use a good moisturizer and under-eye cream ;)

dunno if or how much may absorb transdermally, but you would be left with a pretty greasy chameleon overall which i don’t think is a good idea for him nor to get it all over his branches and such. particularly an oil like that which can go rancid after time, and i’m just thinking about it baking under his heat lamps. yuck!
