    B thamnobates

1 of the babies my female produced at 3.5 months old, he has been outside for 2 of those months now but gets shade all after noon...a little warm here, 90's are right around the corner so he may be coming inside soon. Currently he is living with 2 3 week old borbonica day geckos. he has a...

    Spring babies

Those are really amazing, excellent to hold back for future generations. I hope you continue to produce them for many years.

    Bradypodion Breeding

On my female's tank I use a couple of big Exo UV with a couple of LED's for the plants, a small Exo for the baby when he is in a tank but he has been outside for over a month now though he will be moved inside soon. The female has been outside quite a bit as well lately but she and the male grew...

Can I use regular tap water?

I used to live in Hamilton Ohio, there put a gallon of water out, let it sit a day and I used to change water for Discus, here in Florida where I live now, you could let it sit for a month and it would probably kill your animals over a period of time (tap water that is). I use spring water now...

    Bradypodion husbandry guidelines

From what I have found these guys like pretty cool temps in winter or at least letting them go through a cool winter has it's benefits, mine have been outside in the 40's and seem no worse for wear (this just happened recently as I kept them indoors mostly at first). I have seen several accounts...

    Stillborn bradypodion thamnobates

Mine had all of hers over about 4 hours and though I thought she had more no more came out. 1 was deformed but not dead which I euthanized, the other 5 have all done well. Make sure you have your fruit flys ready.

Baby Thamnobates Climbing On and Riding The Worm

Yes these guys come out tiny but grow quickly, the last one I have I put outside in a screen cage and in 2 weeks it has almost doubled in size. Sadly though he is coming in very soon as the temps are getting too warm. Keeping dart frogs really put me in good position to care for the little guys...

    Bradypodion Breeding

Good chance that means she is pregnant Darnell, after mating and it was pretty obvious early on mine was going to drop some babies she turned dark anytime he was near and gaped and hissed. She seems less volatile now as she looks as if another litter is coming but he does not approach her the...

    Bradypodion thamnobates

I keep my pair of Nottingham Rd in a large terrarium, 24" x 20" x 36" with a decent sized vent (where I put the UV lighting), the biggest mistake I made is raising them together, not stress related mind you but breeding too early and young. My pair produced 5 babies that just hit the 2 month old...

    Lighting for bromeliads

Most broms need pretty bright light or they will be mostly green and sometimes leggy, some of my nicest broms outside have gone completely green by putting them in the shade. 6500K is the best plant growing spectrum so T5 HO 6500 bulbs work well or LED's which are bright enough to color up...

    Rhampholeon Acuminatus - Baby Pictures

I was going to get a pair from CI but had to wait until my tax return came so I guess I missed out, good luck with them, very cool animals. I am going to try another small species soon and will probably pick up a Brookesia pair from Snakes At Sunset next time I get down to Miami.

    Brookesia vadoni

Chris I was wondering if you would weigh in on the current status of Brookesia vadoni, this has been my favorite species of Chameleon since I saw my first picture. Being a dart frog guy with a couple of large dart terrariums I always assume these would do really well in that type of enclosure...

    Water...

I use spring water, Florida tap water is so bad even when dechlorinated still has a ton of bad stuff. I use a garden sprayer and use 6 packs of gallons I get at the wholesale club.

    Bradypodion Breeding

Yes that is the best way to feed these babies unless you raise your own crickets and have access to a steady supply of true pinheads, they really can not eat anything larger. Now at 3 weeks I may try a couple of hydei this weekend to see if they will take them.
