    laying eggs

Sunday afternoon I out her in a back room at work in a 10 gal. tank with sand, a branch, a fake vine, and a basking lamp. I put the sand on a slope & I read somewhere on here to start a hole for her, so I did. Now it's Tuesday night & she hasn't dug at all in the tank. What should I do from here?

    laying eggs

Ok, someone refresh my memory. I no longer have a female so it's not something that I've had to worry about.....What is the best substrate & how deep for a female veiled to lay eggs in & how big does the container have to be? We have a female at work that is acting like she wants to lay infertil...

    RIP Rocky

Thank you all for your kind words. My boyfriend along with all of you on the forum keep reminding me of the good that I did for Rocky. When I first brought him home he couldn't even climb a branch. Within a couple months of some good calcium, UVB, & TLC he was climbing to the top of his cage...

    RIP Rocky

I'm not on here often, more to read than post. But a little over a year ago some of you might recall a post about me adopting a veiled with severe MBD. I was told by some ( not on the forum ) not to waste my time because he was going to die soon anyway. Well, Rocky passed away today. I would...

    Hammy aka Ham Bone

I named him Hammy because he was such a "ham" when he was a baby. I bought him from a pet store, while he was there he was in a 10 gallon tank with another veiled. The other one was always hiding, but not Hammy. He was always right in the front trying to climb on your finger through the glass...

    Hammy aka Ham Bone

Thanks. He has grown a lot, it's hard to believe that he was that small once upon a time. I was lucky to get a pic with him showing some color because it's not very often that he does. He's a pretty laid back guy, & an absolute sweetheart. I got lucky with him.

    Hammy aka Ham Bone

Well, I've had Hammy a year now, and what a joy he his. My insticts were right when I seen him at the pet store a year ago when he was just a tiny baby. I said he would be a friendly one & no one believed me. Boy...were they all wrong! By the way, that's him in my avatar when I first brought...

    Do You or Don't You???

I have 23 animals that are named. The only thing that's not named are the fish. The chams are Hammie aka Hambone, Rocky & Shybug. I have 3 leopard geckos that my daughter named ( say this 3 times fast ) Loulu, Lily, & Lucy. Water dragon, Friday. And our newest of the reptiles is Fireball the...

Rocky is doing great. Thanks for asking. I wish he would eat more than he does but I guess I shouldn't compare him to my others under his circumstances. But, on the other hand he's climbing which is a huge improvement & he's in a big boy cage now. I wish I could say that the pet store I work...

    recommendation

I would just like you all to know that I've learned a lot on this site since getting my first chameleon. I work in a pet store who sells chameleons & pass on all the knowledge to those who are interested in buying a cham. I also recommend that they visit this web site because I'm always afriad...

    White Plains show :(

Well, today was the day. I was going to the White Plains reptile show. I got up early ( it's a 3hr drive ) & was so excited. This was going to be my first time going to a show this big. Well....about 1 1/2 hours into the drive, my day went to hell in a hand basket! I was in a 4 car pile up on an...

    Possibly free ranging a veiled

THanks for the input Gesang. I have thought a lot about this today. I think it might come down to me selling my female & housing the other male somewhere else in the house. The chams are what I really worry about when it comes to the stress. You know how you tend to favor ( not meaning to, it...

    Possibly free ranging a veiled

I would like to free range my veiled Hammie when my animal room is done being built, but I don't know if I can. Along with 2 other veileds ( a male & a female who I don't want to free range ) there will also be 2 leopard geckos, a water dragon, a tank with a cuban tree frog, and possibly a...

    The Predator - His Story

Congrats on saving the poor little guy. I'm personally a sucker for the under dogs...the ones that need saving. That's why I ended up adopting a veiled with mbd, an impacted gecko & a chinchilla with a bad leg. Someone has to love them. As for the dogs & cats, I'm very careful when it's time...

    Cuddles the Water Dragon-new addition

I just got a baby water dragon myself. I also didn't put him on any substrate. I'll wait until he/she is older. What are some good plants to use with these guys once they are bigger. I would imagine the wieght of them would probaby break a lot of plants.
