Most of the time he is dark regardless where he is in the cage. But every so often I catch him in his cricket catching spot and he's brighter. I just didnt know if it was normal for veileds.
He's in a screen enclosure that measures 18X19X36 basking temp is 91 ambient ranges from 75-80 lowest temp is maybe 71 at night. And he is approx 9 mo's
Hey all Ive had my veiled cham for about 4 months or so now. He's active, eating/drinking and growing well but what concerns me the most is his coloring. Most of the time he is a dark kinda ugly brownish green. Except at night when hes asleep he get pretty green with bright yellow bars.

I guess it really depends on the store and the employees.... My local petco sucks with keeping cages clean and keeping animals healthy. Here at my petsmart, things were kinda messed up but slowly and surely Im gettin things to change
But the reptile store.... Is awesome! Great guy to work...
I know how it is guys.... I work at petsmart and constantly I see sick animals come in and die. We had a two chams for a while one died within a week of being there the other one lasted quite awhile until some how its eye got hurt. It eventually died in the sick animal room in the back
I feel...
whats the temp of the container they are in. If its too low or too high that can kill them too. I guess I'm lucky cuz after a month I usually only have 10-20 dead ones
There is a vine that goes directly under the basking light, i think the ppurple leaves block it in the pic. About 6 inches underneath it. Should I out another?
I just got my first veiled yesterday. So far he's looking good and eating well. My only main concern is I havent seen him venture to the upper part of the cage to bask just stay in the middle part kinda hidden. Do chameleons actually bask like my beardie does or no?
Well I have bunches of empty tanks. 2 30 gal, 1 20L and 2 10 gal. I think he's approx 4-5 mos old if that helps any.
My cage should be here any day but Mike sent my cham sooner than I thought lol
I ordered a nice screen cage early last week and it still isnt here yet I have plants lights and everything else but the cage. Well the breeder shipped my cham today so itll be here tomorrow mornin. what would be a good temporary cage for the lil guy?
