wow really?
the medicine never seemed to help any at all
i'm pretty sure we caught it at an early stage
and it just got worse and worse after we started the meds
the vet really stressed him out too
we've always just let him walk onto us rather than grabbing him
and she grabbed him 3 times
he was...
awesome!
pm me when the babies are ready & i'll let ya know if we'll take one
also about the pygmies
thanks
you were a big help with frank
i would love to get a chameleon from you
thanks
its been really really really hard
apparently hes not completely gone yet
his limbs are completely limp
hes just laying on a towel
opening his mouth really wide to get air every once in awhile
with his eyes closed and sunken in
yes its a jade plant
its on a quite a few safe plant lists for chameleons
neither of these are the initial site we found it on but...

:(
for those of you who haven't read my other posts,
our chameleon frank acquired mouth rot around the beginning of the month
we took him to the vet on the 9th
she said he had mouth rot and a swollen tongue
she gave us baytril and meloxicam
we've been syringe feeding it to him everyday
he...
do you have to hold your cham when you have to open his mouth to put the meds in?
ours usually leaves his mouth open
because hes mad and once we put the meds in sometimes tries to bite and if he does that means the meds just got on the glove
so we have to do it again
maybe its the age...
how do you know if its been aspirated?
is there an easier way of getting him to open his mouth for his meds
rather than sticking a brown gloved hand in, holding his head so his mouth stays open
and dropping in the meds?
we tried to drop 2 drops of the herpcare in his mouth but he kept his mouth...
well we just took our cham to the vet a 4 days ago
because he has mouth rot and a swollen tongue
he hasn't eaten in 4 days
the day before the vet he ate a 2 silkworms
how long can they go without eating?
he has been drinking somewhat
is it safe to mix it in with water and use it to mist my cham,
so that he actually drinks it?
he refuses to drink from the syringe!
or will it irritate his eyes?
okay that sounds good
we do have minerall o
hopefully he will be able to start eating his crickets again soon
should we be supplementing his silkworms now or no?
since his tongue is swollen he hasn't been able to shoot his tongue to get crickets,
so its easier for him to eat worms
yea both my...
thanks guys for all the good info
yes 260 gallon cage is huge
he definently has plenty enough room to get away from the uvb lights
we'll have to make a trip to home depot or lowes for the fixtures
i didn't know you could get them that cheap
and yes apparently the fluckers stuff has D-3 in it
so...
we just changed it so he has more privacy
his plants and sticks are all in the same places
they aren't injections... thankfully!
that woud be really hard to do.
we just have to squirt it from the syringe into his mouth
the doctor only gave us 2 syringes
should we go buy more so that he doesn't...
awww
we'll do the best we can at making him happy
we bought him a few large hornworms from the store
and we are in the process of cleaning his entire cage out
and making it look sweet
he's never been as stressed out as today though :(
She didn't say if we caught it at an early stage
he has only started showing signs a week ago
we have to give him .04 baytril for 21 days
and .02 maxolicam for 14 days
we're gunna go get a fixture for that 24" bulb
and take out the 18"s
the doc also recommended that we get regular calcium...
