I go to school in San Luis Obispo, CA and live in a house with a couple other college students. We do not run the heater, so we can save money on utilities, since none of us have large pocketbooks. It's been known to dip into the mid-low 30's and since we live in an older house I would imagine...
I think you misunderstood my questions. Yes I know, basking spot temp should be ~85 during the day, yadda yadda yadda. But, my question is, with both the UV and the basking bulb off during the night, will a house with a temperature of 40 degrees be too cold for the cham while it sleeps?
I've had my veiled for close to 4 months now. I believe he is somewhere near 6 months old. I've been keeping him at my parent's house which has a thermostat set to somewhere around 75.
I just moved back to school and the temperatures at night are in the mid 30s. Will he be too cold at...
I'm going to be moving to an area where there are no local pet stores for me to pick up crickets. I currently visit the local pet store every couple of days to pick up my food. I believe I will be having them delivered, probably from somewhere like LLLReptile when I move. I was wondering what...
I've actually successfully raised a veiled before, therefore I know the costs associated with their upbringing (though I never had to make a trip to the vet). I just would like to find something that is not $300. That's not to say I can't afford vet trips upwards of $300, just an initial...
Yeah, I've checked their site. Still a little pricey for me right now, I know it's going to be a stretch finding anything cheaper but like I said, I would rather not fork out $300 at the moment. That's not to say that I do not have enough money to take proper care of one, it's just a bit too...
Looking for a young male panther (ambilobe, ambanja, sambava) in the Southern California area. I'm a college student so I don't have a ton of money to fork out. I have done extensive research in the upbringing of chams and will meticulously care for him.
Thanks,
Steve
Thanks everyone for the feedback. The black thing has been on him since we purchased him, ~7 weeks ago. He has shed and it seems to be unaffected. It's hard, like bone. Looks like a little spur sticking out. It doesn't seem to impair him in any way. He moves fine, eats fine, drinks fine...
Here are a couple of pictures of our 10 week (supposedly) male veiled, Floyd. Does he appear to be healthy? And also, what is the black growth on his front left leg? It has been there since we purchased him. Any thoughts? Thanks.
So I woke up yesterday to find my cage with my ~3 month old veiled infested with ants. There was a living ficus in the cage, which they seemed to be tunneling in the soil. I can't think of why they'd be interested in the soil but who knows. Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep them out...
I just purchased a 6 week old veiled cham (photos attached).
This is my current set up:

So, I've wanted a cham all of my life and have finally come to purchasing one but first I need a cage setup.
I am a college student and do not have a ton of money to throw around. The cages I've seen at local stores have been like these: http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products..._terrarium.php...
