I know a lot of the members here are west coast but I know there are a few east coasters that had to have been affected by the storm. What did you do for your chams to make it thru the storm? We're you lucky enough to have a generator?
We were not. We have been with out power in our apt since...
My husband and I have a female veiled and are looking for colorful flowering plants to add to her enclosure. Other than hibiscus does anyone have any ideas?
Her cage is homemade and is 36x32x24
She already has a pothos and a barely living hibiscus
I have a female that we keep about 85 basking and down to 62-65 a night in the winter (we're in northern nj) and she will honestly eat 10-15 med to large crickets daily if we let her and be looking for more.

I'm a freak for the elements and my degree is in Japanese so put the two together and i have he username I use everywhere
We got our girl from the petco in Flanders NJ almost a year ago and she was and is very happy and healthy... But To be honest the people in this particular store have no idea how to care for something as complex as a veiled. Not even a teeny tiny clue.
My husband and I went into the store in...
My female veiled "Dragon" laid an infertile clutch of 42 eggs mid May this year
she about 10 months to a year old now and she shes showing the blue receptive colors again... so my question is do they really cycle every 2-3 months or so?
I'm looking also .. prob for 500 cricks at a time and trying to get butter worms in the same go ... there is only one place anywhere near me that sells anything but meal worms and they charge 4/$1 butter worms and 2/$3 horn worms .. ouch
Where I work we have a ton of these stink bugs flying around our window. They are constantly dive bombing my boss and she thought that maybe a fitting punishment would be feeding them to my veiled cham.
Are they a viable food choice or should I stay away from "wild" caught food?
I didn't post here ... someone moved it... I'm assuming because someone above thought I was talking about a beardie because her name is Dragon.
We did find eggs two days after she buried her self
42 to be exact
So all is good :)
we have one female veiled ... when we brought her home in November we showed our now 4yr old nephew and his only response was a huge gasp and "DRAGON!!" and it stuck :) even after we discovered that she is indeed a she lol
Haha .. Dragon is her name lol (thanks to my 3yr old nephew)... she a veiled chameleon
Shes inside and the apartment usually runs 68 or so
cam home today she's outta the box and thin looking ... but an inspection reveals no eggs ... I'm so confused and now worried that she'd becoming eggbound
This time it's all for show ... its her first clutch and is unfertilized ...
Thought that this might turn her off laying but luckily was back again the next day pushing dirt around.
Question?: I know they usually lay in the evening ... her light goes off at round 830p and usually she's still...
My girl Dragon has been digging or at least trying to dig test holes in her laying bin. They've been mostly shallow . Most of the time she starts on one side and pushes a lot of dirt behind her and then turns around and does it the other way ... no real holes per-say. She had a very shallow...
Is anyone going to this show? I really want to check it out but I'm not sure if it's worth it from a Cham stand point.
If you've been and/or have a better recommendation in the NJ/NY/PA area please share :)
-THX!

Went into Petsmart the other day .. had to get cricket cubes.
Everytime We go in there I walk past the reptile cages and check out the hatchling veiled Cham they often have (I know its awful but this is where we got our girl Dragon)
I missed it but my husband saw a little boy sleeping in the...
