Hi,
Unfortunately, my chameleon died 3 years ago and I finally decided to part with his habitat. My dad and I built it ourselves. It's pretty heavy, so shipping might be an issue if your not in the east coast.

Hi, I haven't logged on for a very long time, but now I need some help. My 4 year old veiled chameleon is very weak since last Sunday. I found him on the bottom of his cage and when I tried to put him back on a branch he would just fall off. He seemed still very alert so I brought him to the vet...
When I first had Lenny, my roomate at the time had a big black cat (Black Betty) who would lay right next to the cage staring at the crickets. His presence didn't seem to affect Lenny one bit so I allowed him to slep there. But when I moved with my girlfriend who had just bought a little grey...
so thats why Lenny wont eat anything else.hes gottten picky since a discovered superworms which I think to be the most practical of all the feeders I used.
Once when Lenny was growing he ate 50 medium size cricket in 24 hours...I'm not exagerating. But this only happened once...good thing because I was beginning to think that I was gonna go broke!
1) We used insulating foam
2) We simply threw some sand on the foam before it dried
3) The humidity is holding great....a steady 60-70%
4) I'm still waiting a bit before ordering my misting system http://www.mistislandscanada.com/kit_3.html
Not a problem for me because I don't free range. I...
Veileds are known to be more aggressive...but this doesn't mean that all veileds are aggressive. Just means if you get a veiled expect it to be hissy and puffy. And if he isn't, then he's either one of the few veileds that are tolerant or he's sick.
Hi there,
I was wondering who here has the oldest chameleon of any species? Mine is just a year and a half. When I read bout life expectancies it seems to vary alot.
Also what can a cham keeper expect from an aging chameleon (less active? more hand feeding? etc).
thanks
I was planning on getting a tattoo of my veiled cham in the next few years...probably gonna wait to make it a memorial tattoo of him. If anybody else has cham tattoos please post em!!
Once my cham Lenny was walking on my girlfriend's bed where she put her clean pants...and this is when I decide to feed him a silkworm...let's just say her pants had to go back in the washer.
I have yet to actually meet another canadian cham keeper (then again I'm from the low populated maritimes). Hence I went looking for a forum site about chams for info and to talk about everything chammy. I don't think cham keeping is more frequent in Canada than the USA.
My last shipment of silkworms only lasted 4 days...pitty buying 50 silkworms and only have the time to feed away 3. But a local pet store guy told me that the supplier is having some sort of viral problem.
