When I upgraded my chameleons enclosure to a bigger one, I bought a larger umbrella (shefflerra) plant. It did great for the first month or two, but now the leaves are slowly turning brown and falling off..?? When I brought it home, I wiped down all the leaves and cleaned them and then re-potted...
I think it looks great!! Just keep in mind that when he starts maturing he'll need a bigger enclosure... I got a bigger one when my Veiled was around 8-9 months.
The real branches in there are from my yard. Since they were too big to bake in the oven, I bleach-washed them and set them out over night to dry. The other ones were bought at petco.
Zeus's cage is a Reptibreeze 24"x24"x48". After I upgraded to a bigger cage, I had to buy lots of extra vines and plants to fill in the extra space. He really liked it until I put the real Umbrella tree in there. I thought he would like it, but he seems to not move around quite as much. Maybe...
Update on the dubia roaches..
My Zeus LOVES them!! Normally I feed him his crickets on free roam, his lettuce and superworm in a feeder cup. So in between the lettuce and worm days, I shook a couple of Dubia roaches in his cup. So far so good and I have yet to touch them!! :)
Thanks to...
I just ordered a small batch of dubia roaches. Wanted to try them out with my veiled to see if he likes them cuz I think he's getting burned out on crickets. Should I place them in a feeder cup and offer them to him? I don't really want to touch them.. And how many 1/2" roaches should I feed him...
Thank you for that information Venutus1!! Originally I had seen the idea for LED lights online that were built in to a cage.. I will post some pics if/when I do decide to do this!!
The enclosure that I have for my 9 month old male veiled chameleon is 24" x 24" x 48". I've found some cool LED light strips that I think would look cool in his enclosure.. maybe to add more light and be kinda fancy! Is there any reason I shouldn't use those types of lights? They are just tube...
Thank you!
Thanks so much for your responses! I'm looking into getting some super worms soon! As for being scared of them, the one time I had looked into buying them, I opened a container and they dang near came flying out at me (or so it seemed) bcuz they were so active. Lol ;) But if they...
I'm curious about which is better between meal worms, wax worms and super worms. Most things I've read said that meal worms aren't that healthy and they can cause impaction? Although horn worms and silk worms may be the best, they are a little too spendy and harder to come by. Super worms scare...
Hi, my juvenile male chameleon makes a small vibration when I pet his back.. I with both fingers I'll rub down either side of his spine (softly) and each time I do this, he makes a quick vibration..?? Lol It's kinda funny. It doesn't seem to bother him, I'm just curious if anyone has ever...
