My 2yr old male veiled cham started acting very weird (weird as in not his normal routine) Now the temperature in my house did drop unexpectedly (we got an unexpected cold front) I do have a 100w heat lamp on his cage so he still is warm but of course its still an open air cage. He started...
I got him at the NH Reptile show back in March as 2yr old and he is looking as handsome as ever outside! His change of colors is phenomenal to me, enjoy!
Ahh thank you!!! Yes, these plants were all in their 'humidity rep' room with dart frogs, geckos, and chams. They had a lot of plants for terrariums/vivariums I got my marbeled pothos there
Ah so it IS a type of pothos.... Cool! The heart shape was cool. I figured I wouldn't be putting that in the cam cage since its fragile. Will make a good house plant.
Still haven't been able to find any pics of the other mystery one. It would be really cool if I could put it in there!
Just looked them up and they are close but definitely not it. But your guess was closer than mine! Lol the peperomia grows upward and had striped leaves
Nice cage! That's EXACTLY how I want mine to be setup like. (Boyfriend said he'd make a custom cabinet for our reptibreeze but hasn't started and its been 6 months -_-)
But I have a bucket and a mistking ready to go. The Reptile carpet is a great idea for the back!!! I have it on the bottom and...
Just went to my local awesome pet store and they always have cool new rep stuff.
In their plant room they had these two plants that I liked. Both hanging. Would love to put the first one in my cham cage cause its thick and would handle him climbing on it.
BUT are they SAFE for my veiled...
I have been noticing some interesting behaviors the past couple weeks. My 2yr male veiled is going through a shed and I heard a barking noise. I thought I was crazy until my BF ran into my work room saying he just heard the chameleon bark. Cham was totally content.
Is this a mating behavior...
Thanks for the advise! I wasn't looking for anything in depth since I know I can use the search feature but like you guys said, just basic. Just to see what I'm dealing with here on a basic scale :)
Fell in love with chams and so far my male veiled is doing fantastic and my feeder insects are breeding great.
Looking to get a juvi male Jacksons.
Going with reptibreeze. (My male is in the XL)
What size would be appropriate? I heard they don't need AS much room as a adult veiled.
Also...
I live in the mountains so its not too warm here either. My 2yr old veiled is in am XL RB. To keep the basking temp up I have a double dome with 2 100w bulbs. (One basking one regular) and a 24" uvb.
That seems to keep a nice temp up top for him
He just sighs and shakes his head and calls me an animal freak xD we have 2 dogs, fish, and 7 parrots plus the cham. NEED MORE. I always grew up owning lots of animals. I don't expect him to understand as much. I'm really good at sneaking things home though ;)
Thanks for the input! That's just fuel for the fire haha
Because I know that's the first thing my other half will complain about since he pays the electric bill ^^;
My male veiled cham is doing great, got him in march at an expo. Hes still eating good and is even drinking out of the cantina. He gets pissy when we take him out but after a minute he calms down.
If we feed him every other day, the second day he will start scratching at the cage door like...
Great info! I too make my own cricket/roach/superworm feed. This helps a bunch. I have been giving them chop which includes, carrots, dandelion leaves, sweet potato, mini bell peppers (I read that a lot of insects are drawn to orange colored foods)
Are bell peppers okay for the crickets? They...
The corrugated plastic is super light, so its a perfect material and completely water proof. Drainage wise I'm deciding to not do a drainage bucket (unless I need to) but I custom built a plexiglass pan that is 8" tall and shorter in the front so I can easily pull it out. I have reptile carpet...
I don't have mine setup yet (same size cage) but when I do set it up, I got some corrugated plastic (a 4x8' piece) that I am going to zip tie around the two sections that the sprayer will be aimed at. Hanging vines also help collect water spray. But the majority will be stopped by the plastic...
