House are the ones with the long wings that are super noisy right? I've had the same experience with those, but I believe they were the Jamaican something or other..... Same thing? I do prefer the banded cricket a hundred times over, that's for sure!! They seem to gut load more easily and no...

Anyone else had this problem? I put the crickets in their cages in the morning, and they all gravitate to the walls and then up to the corner where the walls meet the ceiling by the time I leave for work. Typically near heat lamp or the corners of the UV light. Then my panther chameleons seem...

Well it seems to be that Nexxus was playing a little joke on me! Being a picky eater, showing gravid colors, and running up & down her plant turned out to be all for a good laugh! See here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/pregnancy-scare-my-horny-lil-girl-w-hd-pictures-103665/...

So a few days ago I posted here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/6-mo-panther-fake-mama-egg-laying-problems-103277/ In reference to Nexxus, my 6 1/2mo old female blue bar ambilobe being gravid (with infertile eggs) and not wanting to lay. The advice i was given is that while she does look to...

Sounds like great advice... I offered crickets this morning we will see after work how many she eats if at all. She always eats the good stuff but hasn't been interested in crickets as much the past couple days. I have the IP cam fixed on her laying bin (still in her regular cage as seems to...

I think y'all are right. I went ahead & moved her to her regular cage with the 12in diameter 12in deep pot/laying bin. Wouldn't you know it, the first thing she does is jet down her plant (which doesn't have appropriate soil or size to dig). I realized there were some bushy plants blocking...

Sure her is the most recent one..

Okay so my female of about 6 1/2months is very much gravid... She has been very round the last 2weeks, just starting to show the basic coloration. The eggs are infertile, everyone as work has been referring to her as my " baby the fake mama". :) Thursday, she kept running up & down her...

Triple L chameleons are so cheap because they are almost exclusively female, if not 100%. In fact, i have never seen any male panthers for sale from them. They sold me my blue bar ambilobe girl "Nexxus" as a male.. Of course i fell in love with her, but it was a bit heart breaking to see...

I also noticed from self experience that if you have any bushy plants on the bottom/floor of your cage in the way that you do then all the crickets will hide under/behind them and your chameleon will never find them. I would suggest hanging them horizontally rather then vertically to make more...

What's the drainage system like for this tank? You want to make sure he gets plenty of water and that there isn't any water pooling at the bottom that might get bacterial growth and cause a respiratory infection. Getting the drainage system right was one if the most difficult this for me. If you...

Beautiful spikes!

Im excited for the San Diego show in July but don't know how i'll find time with all the comic-con prepping i'll be doing that month

i saw someone had just bought a chameleon & was coming back to say "i forgot to ask, what do these eat?". Made me kind of sad for the chameleon, but i'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt. and other then that, this was my fist reptile super show, drove 2 hours from San Diego & it was...

I noticed it said you handle him 2-3 times a day. That may be okay with some chameleons but for most that would be way too stressful. Too much stress can be very unhealthy. Since you mentioned he's been hiding that may be a good indication that he needs some space. The first 2-3 weeks of...

ive had my chameleon for about a month now & i go back and forth from distilled and bottled spring water. i think as long as its not sink water it's okay.

They sell & recommend it at LLLReptile, their selling point is that it's affordable & why spend a lot of money on a cage you'll need to upgrade in a few months anyways. They also win in the weight category & the mobility category. But how often do we need to pick up & move our cages anyways...

its so tempting sometimes when you know you can help them, but thats a good way of explaining it. sometimes if you take a scab off to soon the skin underneath looks healthy but it'll still feel a little raw like it wasnt completely done growing.

i usually sew things to the side of the cage. you'd be surprised how strong thread can be. you can also use fishing wire but if you have to puncture it through the container the thread &needle would work better.

slow and steady wins the race!
