Ok so when I water it seems it drains too fast causing the soil to dry up too fast. I'm thinking its the soil. Also I tend to water it whenever the soil is dry. I check by sticking my finger about 1 inch down to feel if its dry. Also when I feel the leaves they feel dry and stiff. They don't...
How the hell do you keep them alive! I bought 2 indoor plants, a variegated ficus and schefflera goldfinger and they both ended up dying. They were labeled as low light to medium light. I keep my enclosure close to a window so there is light coming in. Also I don't have a grow light. Could this...
Well my chameleon came up with an infection on the corner of her mouth which makes me suspect it might be a temporal infection. It's discolored and swollen. So I took her to the vet and he told me it could be a number of things that's to cause. He seemed pretty knowledgeable. But he told be its...
Ok i bought a 40w incandescent but no thermo yet. But it seems i can only feel the heat about 5 inches away from the light, so id guess i should make his spot about 7 or 8 inches from the light. So i raised my dead ficus up a little but now im worried hes too close to the uvb light.
Hawaii temps now are mid 80s and i dont have ac so i would say it runs abouts 81-84 degrees. But i hear chameleons need light in order to regulate their bodies. And i have a arcadia 6%. So would i need a 40 watt or something less since temps are already good for jacksons?
Edit: im scared if i...
Im looking for a bulb for heat for my jackson chameleon. So for all you jackson owners what kind of bulb, incandescent, cfl, mvl, etc. how much wattage for 80-85 degree spot.
Thankyou very much.
I live in hawaii. Tempurature in hawaii is mid 80s in the day, and mid 70s at night which is perfect temps for jacksons.
Plus i take her out for sunlight 3 times a day 30 min each time.
I dont think ill need a basking spot untill winter.
Dw she should be fine without a uvb light for a few...
Yes my cham is dark in its cage as well. But when hes out shes a nice yellow light brown.
Im pretty sure they were newborn when i got them.
I have them aproximately 3-4 months. Lost track of time.
Heres the best pic i could get...
I wish i could. But i dont have a good quality camera. My pictures from my iphone always come out blurry when trying to do closeups. But i will keep trying.
I got it from a petstore that had no clue. Not even of age. They told me someone just dropped them off. They were very tiny when i got them. They were also very skinny and dehydrated. Only 1 out of 3 lived.
My chameleons horns are no where near that size. And color is no where near green like yours. The horns on my chameleon look like newborn size, maybe slightly larger.
Also i dont know what specie it is. But pretty sure its a xanth.
I cannot get a good pic. My iphone cant focus
I posted a thread awhile back about my chameleon wondering about its sex. And i realized a month ago that it is a female. Though i am still kinda confused why its horns are growing. I know its female since by now its horns should be really big. The reason why it confuses me is because its horns...
ok i know that these bulbs arent meant for plant growth and i dont want to have to buy another bulb purposely for my plants. so i was just wonder which bulb would be better for plants. i dont really care if it thrives or not i just want the thing to stay alive. i was thinking about reptisun 5.o...
Ok well i bought a ficus bejamina about 2 months ago with a repti glo 5.0 for uvb. Few weeks later my ficus started dropping all its leaves. So i was wondering maybe its because i repotted it or its adapting itself since its now getting less sunlight. Then it started growing back some leaves...
