Lots of trial and error's with this cage since I didn't grow up watching Bob the Builder or anything like that. But here it is:
The bones
Primer and paint
Making the drain hole
Adding the doors
Had a friend paint be backboard since I was too scared to mess up a rock wall...
SUCCESS!!! Well I did a bit of your advice and a bit of What If.
Well I had a extra transparent hose in the house and decided to put that one on to see if anything was going in from the water bucket. I noticed that there was a little air bubble moving up the hose very very slow (after...
Hi Everyone,
So I got my new Starter pack and I havent been able to get it to work. I tried checking the tubes for clogs and correct flow direction; plugged it into the timer and outlet directly; checked both ends and its neither sucking nor blowing (that's what she said:D). All it does is...
Dexter stares at it for a good while then he starts testing the water (sort of like we dip our feet when we get in the pool), slowly puts his head in then takes another while to start drinking.
Do you think this is why we need fogers for them?
Seen that main youtube video on jacksons...
I posted a couple of weeks ago on a humidifier from Target. Found a bunch on clearence for $20. I havent messed with it yet because im working on Dexter's new cage. You cant beat the price.
The setup looks really good. He may be dark because he needs to get adjusted to the new look or its too small. If by chance its too small, I've seen people extend the cage by adding a mesh one on top. That way you can just add plants and vines to the top without messing that cool setup.
why cant you keep him again? Sorry to hear that you have to let him go. and yea, you make sure the guy knows his stuff. You should also make it a requirement for him to be on the forums (hopefully this is where you got in contact.)
Best of luck.
That feeling you get when your MistKing arrived in the mail and you have 1 more hour to go at work. Im sure many of you have that feeling with the feeders, chams etc.
Im nearly done with Dexters new cage. The cherry on top was the MistKing. Hopefully im done by Sunday.
Those with...
Make sure its a 5.0 uvb and not just a basking light (which is what the red one is)
You need both a UVB and a basking light on during the day (12 hrs). At night there should be nothing on. If it gets too cold at night, a ceramic bulb and covering the sides should work (just check the...
The Zoo Med T5 HO fixtures plus 5.0 florescent combo pack are about $60.00 (24 inch fixture with 22" florescent) I went along and got it, the bulb wasn't doing enough. Right away it made a huge difference for both the lighting and my chams behavior.
Theres a video on youtube about using a Sunny D bottle then adding a screen mesh on the inside so they can climb(that way your cham can see them). If you already have the screen mesh, I believe they are jumping out because the width of you bottle is too short. Hope this helps.
