I am interested in getting the low-profile rain dome + the free 2nd one. Currently I have the MistKing system, so was wondering if there are any issues using it with the other system? Also, which GPM would be best to get? I'm guessing the 0.3GPM? Thanks
Here is my guy. I haven't quite settled on a name, though I am leaning towards Petrichor (anyone know the meaning w/o looking it up?). As of today he is 45g and has shed twice. He loves his crickets, though has only eaten a couple dubias and couple mealworms :( I really wish I could get him onto...
I haven't been doing this as long as a lot of these other guys, but I did get one of the Dragon Strand breeder series medium tall cages. They are very well built and his customer service I don't think is to be beat. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him. His customer service sold me to begin...
If you pinch the back legs off the crickets they fall off and once both are gone the crickets can't get out of the feeder cups either... though that is time consuming haha
This is part of why I jumped on it. I loved how she posted the family tree back multiple generations to yours and her originals. I have no desire to breed veiled or anything, but just being able to see the parents and all like that is great and made me jump on it sooner then I would have...
I have my new male veiled chameleon from Dez and figured I'd get some pictures up of his setup and him. I also wanted to review the products. He seems to be doing pretty well, though I still need to get a name for him. Pictures are below.
I previously purchased this setup to get started on...
You could get some cork flats and shape & glue them around the pot to hide it.
You could do a soil bottom and plant it in the enclosure, though a lot here are against that.
You could get some stone that you glue/adhere to the pot to hide it.
I have a lid with a part of it screen on the top of my rubbermaid totes. I have seen males hanging upside down on the screen when I've had higher populations or the egg crates under the screen. So they can get some lift if they want, just very minimal. The also can do a controlled flutter...
Adult dubia males are able to flutter and so I do recommend a lid to prevent them from getting out. Mostly they flutter in a controlled descent, though they can go an alright distance like that. Sometimes they are able to get a little lift/height to begin with.
They do use the wings for...
Oh man, don't tell me that. I was wanting to work with flap-necked chameleons, but these guys look pretty sweet. I would like to work with something that not a ton of people are breeding as well as some of the smaller chameleons. May have to look further into these guys...
