How Often Should a Panther Chameleon Poop?

Good morning everyone! :) I'm curious how often a healthy Panther chameleon should poop? Should a juvenile poop every day? Elaborating on that question a bit more, would size & frequency of poop be a good indicator if he's getting enough food or not? I'm assuming he'd poop less frequently...

Comment by 'dannigrrl' in 'Flaming Rude Behaviour'

I wanted to bounce ideas off people trying to improvise with what I have. It didn't go well. The conversation ended up with someone getting snippy about ventilation (which wasn't even the topic of my question). The other conclusion was that I am too poor to own a chameleon. I'm just gonna jerry...

Wrapping UV light in mesh before mounting inside glass enclosure

The entire front is metal grate. My Pablo lived happily in this enclosure for 7 years. I used a Powersun Mercury vapor bulb back in the day, but now I want to use T5 which is why I'm asking about mounting it inside the cage. Since the top is glass, I really don't have any other options.

Cage not setup - he will be moving in as a subadult in the fall. Just gathering ideas here first. My point is that the only way humidity can be maintained is by using a glass cage. I am aware of the humidity requirements. (y) Sorry for including that, it's really not relevant to my discussion...

Wrapping UV light in mesh before mounting inside glass enclosure

I have a 2x2x4 three sided glass enclosure with a glass roof, therefore I have no other option than to mount my UV light inside the enclosure by velcroing it to the top. (Don't judge the glassiness, my city averages a solid 30% humidity year round!) I have a 24" Reptisun T5 5.0 with reflector...

    Reptisun T5 5.0 - 12" bulb vs. 22" bulb UVB penetration distance/intensity?

Awesome, thanks guys! I have the Sunblaster T5 and love that it happens to include a plant grow light. Feel like I got a bonus there, lol!

    Reptisun T5 5.0 - 12" bulb vs. 22" bulb UVB penetration distance/intensity?

I'm curious if anyone knows if there is a difference between the UVB penetration distance and/or UVB intensity between a Reptisun T5 5.0 - 12 inch bulb vs. a 22 inch bulb. Looking at ZooMed's website, they post a UVI distance chart for the Reptisun T5 5.0 bulb (here) but do not specify anything...

    Panther Chameleon breeders in Canada

Hi Selig! I'm on the list for a boy from the same sire as yours from Peach Tree Chameleons! Did you end up getting him? Would you mind sharing a picture of what he looks like now? This new batch of little guys is ready to go home at the end of April. I'm super excited! Have a good one! Danni

    Cichlids

I've got myself a tank of cichlids. It's a 29 gallon that I converted after repeated goldfish losses. If anyone is curious about what they entail, check this out: Cichlid Tips I think African cichlids are wonderful, good fish that actually stay alive.

Ambilobe as he matures from 2 mo. - 1 yr.

Thanks for the compliments. It took him forever to color up. I would see the photos of other people's chams at 8 months and they had so much color, Pablo was still very pale (as you can see in the 3rd photo) I thought maybe he was from weak bloodlines. Then between 10 months and 1 year, it was...

    tastebuds changed overnight?

Pablo used to love crickets. then he hated crickets. then he loved superworms only. now he hates superworms. He seems to refuse all food now, but he'll eat again when he gets really hungry. Food strikes are very common. George used to do the same thing.

    Pablo is feeling yellow today.

He's starting to show more and more yellow as he ages. Check it out! (The first pic was from last night when he was sleeping)

    Hunger Strike

I hear ya! Pablo has been on a "I refuse to eat crickets" strike right now and only wants superworms. He gets pheonix and butters right now but isn't too pleased about those either.
