moon and stars above
the open face of heaven
gentle, soulful night

the moon converses
by gazing through the window
in gentle silence

sleepless night again
no rest to still racing thoughts
why am I awake

insomnia rests
heavy hands on sleepless chest
and strangles your peace

I know I'm tired
my body tells me to sleep
in stillness i wait

snores bang in my ears
all i want is some quiet
maybe tomorrow
