July 2011

Ive been too busy with work and family concerns to keep my normal detailed daily log. But generally for the month of July, the following feeders have been / will be eaten by my herd of panther chameleons (listed roughly in order of most used to least):

Dubia (usually mid-sized nymphs, but also a few adult males)
Crickets (range of sizes)
Butterworms
Indian Walking Sticks (range of sizes)
Terrestrial Isopods
Superworms
Wild caught Moths
Hisser nymphs
Turks (adults, usually males)
Small Chinese Mantids (ones that had a bad shed and so were doomed anyways)
Mealworms

LOL well CammieBaby its not hard to rear bugs really.
I buy the crickets (not overly hard to beed them, but too smelly and noisy for me to bother) and butterworms. The moths are wild caught (I leave the porch light on at night when there's no moon). Everything else is easy to breed. I had to give up silkworms because of space and time constraints, but even those arent difficult. There are links to info on breeding bugs from this other blog entry:

That is a very respectable menu. You have some lucky chameleons.

Thanks. I think of myself as the lucky one, for having the opportunity to have chameleons and bugs (i like bugs!) as pets
