I watched someone "dusting" their cricket with Calcium + D3. I say dusting in quotes because it was actually more like painting or heavily coating the crickets. I dont dust my home much, but even at my house the dust layer has never been that opaque and thick.
Well, almost never. That top shelf in the back room probably looks pretty bad - Im too short to deal with it.
Anyhow, this person really should have known better. I know this person has been told to only LIGHTLY dust. And yet, they got it in their head that you cant overdo it with calicum and that more was better than too little.
WRONG!
You certainly CAN overdo it with calcium. Calcium needs to be in balance with vitamins and hormones, like A and D3. Excessive calcium also inhibits iodine (a crucial nutrient). Excessive D3 can build up / mineralize in soft tissues and organs. Too much D3 can be very bad indeed.
More is NOT better. MODERATION is better. Supplements should be SUPPLEMENTARY to a good diet, they should not BE the diet!
UGH!
Frustrated by what I perceive as a lazy lack of understanding. But not defeated.
wash, rinse, repeat.
