Average Prey Intake Diary, July 2010, Male Panthers

I track what each of the males eat daily, take an average and log it here in these monthly blog entries. A semi-colon (rather than comma) is used to indicate when there were two separate feeding times (morning then afternoon).

Supplements, if used, are indicated by: C=calcium (RepCal or sticky tongues mineral O brand); CD3=calcium with D3 (RepCal); V=Vitamins (RepCal Herptivite)


July 1: to celebrate Canada Day they got their favourites: 1 hornworm, 3 terrestrial isopods, and 1 moth in the morning; then, 1 stick insect, 1 waxworm in the afternoon. Those two that like them also got pansy flowers. no supplements used.

July 2: 1 superworm (C)

July 3: 2 crickets (C)

July 4: 3 butterworms (one with V); 1 mealworm (CD3)

July 5: 1 large hisser

July 6: nothing

July 7: 3 Turkistan roaches (one with C)

July 8: 1 stick insect; 2 Moths

July 9: 2 Moths (wild caught)

July 10: 1 Superworm (C); 3 stick insects

July 11: 4 mealworms (C); 1 male Dubia, 1 Superworm (CD3)

July 12: 2 Superworms (C)

July 13: 4 crickets (C)

July 14: 1 Butterworm (V)

July 15: 1 Superworm (C)

July 16: nothing

July 17: 2 Turks

July 18: 1 mealworm (V)

July 19: 2 terrestrial isopods

July 20: 1 Superworm (C)

July 21: 1 adult dubia; 2 sticks, 1 mealworm

July 22: 2 crickets (C); 1 cricket (C)

July 23: 1 superworm

July 24: 1 grasshopper (wild caught); 1 moth (wild caught)

July 25: 1 turkistan roach (CD3)

July 26: 1 stick insect, 1 terrestrial isopod;1 superworm

July 27: 2 stick bugs; 2 more stick bugs

July 28: nothing (because nothing was offered)

July 29: 1 turkish (C); 1 super

July 30: 1 super; 1 stickbug

July 31: nothing (because nothing was offered, I've been busy with weddings this month)
