Would my home stress a chameleon?

I've wanted one of these little guys since I was about 10 but my parents would never let me get one because they thought it would die too easily. Now my wife wants to get me one for my 29th birthday (finally!), but I need to make sure the environment here won't stress him.

I am a bit limited about where I can put him due to having two cats. He could go in my entertainment room that cats are banned from, but I'm not sure if the fans from my PC graphics cards would annoy him. I have a pair of GTX 480 so they're not exactly quiet when I play games. I use headphones so the game sounds wouldn't be a problem. I also watch TV in that room but not particularly loud.

If that would stress him I could keep him on top of a 5ft tall dresser in the bedroom. But how much would the daily getting of clothes bother him?

Also, I like to keep this place pretty cool, probably 65f or so even in the daytime. I want to make sure that if I get a cham, he'll be ok with that and won't have to basically live right next to the basking light because the ambient is too cold.

Any thoughts about if this would be an adequate home for a cham are much appreciated. If I get one I'll probably go for a 1-2 yr old veiled (or perhaps jacksons) from craigslist since that's an easy way to get all the supplies too. I definitely won't be getting a baby. If this won't work though, I'll wait until I have a larger home where he could have his own room and maybe get a milksnake for now since I've always wanted one of those too but I couldn't find a place to buy them 15 yrs ago when I was into this stuff.

Hey deton I just got my cham 3 days ago, I'm also a huge gamer. Hes a baby, only about 2 weeks, But when I play my games on my pc I usually have music on and it is kinda of loud and it dosent seem to bother him. I have a 8600 GT with a ok sized fan on it, makes some noise and I would think your fans wouldn't bother him at all.
Ill even play CoDmw2 on the ps3 at night but that wont bug him either, I think I just have a cham that could careless wither the lights where on or off for him to sleep..

Well the GTX 480 will be a lot louder than a 8600GT. They're a hot card so the fans run pretty hard and I have two of them with big overclocks. Hopefully if music isn't bothering yours though then fans wouldn't bother mine.

If your "media/game room" is active after dark, I would pick a different part of the home for the chameleon.

Especially since they don't have any ears :D Its vibrations and light that you need to worry about.

I have two monster rigs with 1200w PSUs and Nvidia 285s that go a long way in keeping the house warm in the winter.

lol, I can't believe I forgot this. It shouldn't be a problem then. If I'm in there at night it's always with the light off and I'll make sure to set it up to where he can't see my computer desk.

I put a towel over the top of my chams enclosure at night so my Tv doesnt keep her up. Also I have 3 cats in my house and my cham seems to do fine with them in my room. She has more of an issue with me than with them -_-
