I've wanted one of these little guys since I was about 10 but my parents would never let me get one because they thought it would die too easily. Now my wife wants to get me one for my 29th birthday (finally!), but I need to make sure the environment here won't stress him.
I am a bit limited about where I can put him due to having two cats. He could go in my entertainment room that cats are banned from, but I'm not sure if the fans from my PC graphics cards would annoy him. I have a pair of GTX 480 so they're not exactly quiet when I play games. I use headphones so the game sounds wouldn't be a problem. I also watch TV in that room but not particularly loud.
If that would stress him I could keep him on top of a 5ft tall dresser in the bedroom. But how much would the daily getting of clothes bother him?
Also, I like to keep this place pretty cool, probably 65f or so even in the daytime. I want to make sure that if I get a cham, he'll be ok with that and won't have to basically live right next to the basking light because the ambient is too cold.
Any thoughts about if this would be an adequate home for a cham are much appreciated. If I get one I'll probably go for a 1-2 yr old veiled (or perhaps jacksons) from craigslist since that's an easy way to get all the supplies too. I definitely won't be getting a baby. If this won't work though, I'll wait until I have a larger home where he could have his own room and maybe get a milksnake for now since I've always wanted one of those too but I couldn't find a place to buy them 15 yrs ago when I was into this stuff.
