Will this lighting fixture work?

Ive been doing a lot of reading on the forum about lighting and ive seen people raving about the arcadia lights. I was going to wait to purchase the setup but my store had this fixture on sale and i wanted to know what you guys thought. It is a HO T5 but ive never heard of the brand and its meant for an aquarium. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349542669.559115.jpg

I use an aquarium hood on my enclosure, it was the only one they had in stock when I was getting my setup! It's fine for the regular tube lights (I use the Reptisun 5.0). Just make sure it isn't one with a glass or plastic screen between the light and the enclosure, it can filter the UVB.

Looks good. Is made of aluminum and supports t5-ho.

Im going to be picking up the zoomed dual t5 ho, its about the same and gets good reviews.

The only bad reviewed HO hoods seem to be the deepblue and others with the "moonlight leds". Why only the ones with the blue leds fail is a beyond me.

PS: its good to go with 1 arcadia uv light and 1 $6 grow light from the hardware store. Dont use the lights that it comes with unless you like blue/pink shaded chams :p

My Personal Lighting Set-Up

Glad you've decided to take on some of the Arcadia Lights...They're something else, really makes your enclosure look allot nicer! Plus your cham will praise you :D

And the double hood is great because you can throw in a 6500k grow light.

The fixture you have is perfect. As long as it has a T5-HO ballast you shouldn't have any problems. And the one you picked up, does.

So my only question is, does it only use 22" bulbs? or 24"?.

I'm assuming 22", because my fixture looks the exact same.

I went ahead and bought the zoomed AquaSun T5-HO Double Hood about a week ago. So far so good. (cost me $55 shipped)

If you do decide on the Arcadia lights i'd go with the 22" 6%: (Cost me $48 shipped)

For the grow light, i picked up a Ultra Sun 6500k bulb: (Cost me $16 shipped, But theres allllllot more options to choose from for under $10)

Hope this helps, i did allot of research before buying a new light set up, so far this was the best choice for me. I went with a aquarium hood/light because i figured they'd be somewhat water resistant incase any mist got into the hood.
