Who can explain what is "shotgun" treatment

Generally that term is used when someone treats a chameleon with an antiparasitic medication without having tested to see what, if any parasites the chameleon has.

thanks for your explaination

it means when i purchas WC chameleon , i will assume they bring all kinds of parasite and give treatment to chameleons right?

It just means a broad spectrum approach to solving a problem.

You may know the term "Scattergun approach". It means the same thing.

It could mean several kinds of antibiotics to treat a mystery infection, for another example, or making lots of adjustments to a machine and hoping that one of them makes it work.

It means going at it blindly and possibly treating for something unnecessarily or with a medication that's not effective.

In my experience it's when you poke a hole in the bottom of a beer can and then pop the top and chug it.

But what do I know

This is definitely it, except I poke a hole on the side of the can near the bottom. Also you don't want the beer to be ice cold makes it harder to chug.

IMHO you need to let the wcs acclimated for a bit as long as they are doing well so the possible parasite load can level out then have a fecal done so you know what species of parasite you chameleon has, if any and treat it with the appropriate medication.

It's what you do when you really don't know what kind of parasites your animal has, you "shotgun" it with anti-parasitic meds that cover a wide range of problem parasites.

Or if your vet "shotguns" it that means they don't know what the hell is wrong with your animal but they are making the best educated guess they can as a professional and throwing a wide spectrum medication at the problem.

The shotgun method works more often than not.
