White spots/scales on my Jackson's

My Jackson's Cham Loki has some white, dead looking scales/spots around his body. Some near the hips, on the back, and next to the face. It does not seem to be spreading, or harmful, but I would like to know what this is. I'll post a picture as soon as I figure out how to.

Your photo is not showing up for me. If it is just a random stuck old scale, it could be that your humidity isn't high enough for him to shed properly. Mist him for several minutes with warm water, then try rubbing the spot with a moist qtip to see if it comes off. Don't pick at it. My Jax gets these from time to time - extra long warm misting sessions help a lot.

Jackson's are from rather humid areas and need proper humidity to shed .
Looking at your picture, linked below, I believe it's just some scales left from a shed.
It also looks like he would benefit from some extra misting time each day.
Too often, sellers don't really know chameleon care and they don't realize that Jackson's need higher humidity and longer mistings than many other types of chams.
Many people buy automatic misting systems like the MistKing or Aquazamp to ensure that their cham gets frequent, long enough mistings to drink and humidify the enclosure.
In general, Jackson's like cooler temps and higher humidity than other chams, plus they need less D3 and multivitamin supplements than many other types of chams (Panther, Veiled).

My pet store is knowledgable and informative and went over Jackson's conditions with me, so I'm good not hat spect. I'm in San Diego where the humidity is pretty average-high, plus my 3-4 daily mistings. I'm saving up for a mistking starter. I've tried rubbing the dead scale/whatever it is with wet a q-tip like he suggested, but no luck getting it off. It doesn't help that Loki is squirmy when I try though. And my Jackson's is normally much more bright than that photo. He lightened up as soon as I took it! He's not sick, from what I can tell.

You can see from my avatar how the camera affected Karma.
Definitely not his usual colors!
Loki would probably be much happier with some long warm water mistings, which might do the trick to coax those dry scales off.

I don't think your Jackson's is sick either but Jackson's can benefit from longer mistings and some don't drink enough unless the mistings are hand crampingly long.

It's great that the place you got him from has knowledgeable people.
Too often, we hear stories of just the opposite and by the time people find the chameleonforums, their cham is sick.

I was given pretty good advice when I first got a Jackson's but there were some things that could have been better, so I was very happy to have accidentally found the forum.

For those reasons, I recommend that people at least look over the caresheet, just to be sure nothing was left out that is important for their cham to live a healthy, long life.
