Where's my silk?!?

I was looking at my silkworm pupating bin and found this guy, looks like he forgot to make a silk coccoon before starting to pupate. Anyone ever encountered anything like this before?

That happened to several of mine during my first foray into silkworm breeding. Two of them even transformed into moths. I thought it was strange, too.

It's odd but seems to be normal. I'm not sure, but I suspected they were interrupted while spinning and ran out of silk.

The moths are super adorable, btw
