I was wondering what time does everyone have their viv lights come on and for how long. When do they turn off and what light routine suits your own routine?
7 - 7 I get up at 7 so that isn't negotiable, but by 7 every day they have found their sleeping spot and are settled down. Light still comes in from their sliding glass door, but since they are nexted I turn the UV off.
When I had a 45min commute and my melleri babies were young I had the lights set for 6:30am - 8pm so I could feed before and after work.
Now it's set for 8 am - 8 pm.
I wake up at 7 in the morning so I like to have all my reptile lights come on at this time to make sure everything is functioning before I got to work. I just let them run for 12 hours but I change it to 10 hours when the winter hits.
mine was 6:30-7:30 but my timer kinda gets off every month or so and i havent changed it lately so right now it's about 15 min slow, same photoperiod though.
Now that it's summer I use a 12 hour schedule - 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. I actually have Gizmo's basking light go off at 7:00 pm to give him time to get settled in, then his reptisun light goes off at 7:30 pm.
I have the basking light come on at 7:15am, followed by the UBV lights at 7:30am. I provide water drip, misting and first meal before leave for work at 8am. Their second meal and water drip is either at noon or at 4:30pm (depending on my work shift). Last meal just before 6pm is a light one because its so clost to "bedtime". The basking light turns off at 6:15pm, and the UVB turns off at 7:45pm. Of course in mid-Summer when the day is long they also get some additional early and late ambient daylight from the window.
I have to leave for work by 8.30 and I do not arrive home unitl 6.30. At the moment the lights come on around 8am and turn's of at 9pm. I spray and feed just before I go to work and spray and feed again as soon as i arrive home and spray and feed a light meal at around 8pm. Does this schedual sound ok?
