what happens when you breed chameleon siblings not saying im going to do it, never would seems wrong to me. But im just courious because some people do it with snakes to keep the morph in the blood line i was wondering if thats the same with chams

Believe it or not people actually do it with bearded dragons, pythons. I am in no way approving it because all sorts of things can go wrong. It is very much so frowned upon in this hobby. Definitely not something that should be done, period.

Actually I had a scare about 5 months ago with my bearded dragons. I bought a pair from a guy on Fauna Classifieds. One male and one female high end. He said they weren't related but their markings and looks were so similar it was crazy. So I ended up going to a reptile vet and they took blood from both. Turns out they were 100% unrelated. I was really happy. :D

I am not saying it was right or not but there was as man in Hollywood,Florida in the early 90's and he bred veileds. He crossed brother to sister 5 times to see how close the genetics were and said at the 3rd time was when he had hatching problems and the 4 time was when deformation started. I think he started it as a study to help with breeding hard to find or rare breeds and how close you could bred them.
