hey,

the last two days 5 of my 9 quadricornis eggs was fallen in. and nothing hatched. so i dicided to open the eggs.
all babies was ready to hatch but died in the last days in their eggs.
the same happend to 2 cristatus eggs last week. (5 hatched)

i dont know what i did wrong. the temps has been at day 22°C ( 72°F) and at least 24°C ( 75°F). with a night drop of 4°C.

the moisture was normal and a little bit more dry in the last 3 weeks.

does anyone has an idea?

i m very sad that i ve lost those 7 animals.

regards

The only reason I have heard for this happening is too much moisture in the substrate...but I don't think anyone knows if that is the true reason in all cases or not.

Sounds to me like you were doing everything correctly. I just kept my eggs, quad eggs, at 68 with no night time drop. I would have thought your would have been stronger. All nine of my quads hatched and are 6 weeks old. Keep the babies cool, mine are never above 70, and humidity really high. I kept a humidifier on mine for the first 3 weeks.

Do you ever open the egg container to allow fresh air in ever? Is there any small air holes in the egg container?

so sorry

So very sorry you lost the eggs.

Please let us know if you discover any reason.

Best wishes for future clutches.
