What greens should I feed my cham?

I want to feed him something other than bugs, so what should I get get him?

He was trying to eat some of the stuff I put in his cage earlier because I think he wants something else to eat.

You can feed a veiled chameleon dandelion greens, kale, collards, endive, escarole, mustard greens, and the following veggies and fruits (go easy on the fruits) cut into pieces that they can easily eat...carrots, squash, zucchini, sweet red peppers, sweet potato, apple, pear, melon, berries, etc.

They can also eat leaves and flowers from plants that are non-toxic to them...like pothos, hibiscus, etc.

if ur not going to gutload and try to have the cham eat it how would you go about that ive been wondering

You should ALWAYS gutload, even if your cham will eat greens as well. There is absolutely no reason to stop gutloading and you are putting your cham at huge health risk without proper nutrition in the feeders. It is not any harder to throw some greens in the cricket box than to throw some greens in your cham's cage.

jcarlo17..you can't depend on the chameleon eating the greens, etc. that you provide for it so IMHO its better to gutload/feed the crickets and other insects that will eat it the greens and veggies. You want to not only keep the insects healthy but the chameleon too. Are you dusting properly?

i meant if you want to have the cham eat the actual greens and what not im not saying im going to stop gutloading my feeders

I guess I don't understand your question then...could you use punctuation to help convey what you're asking?

Ok someone put "any of the gutloading greens would be good for your cham since what they eat the Cham eats! Would not hurt to try to have him eat them on their own." Soooo what i was wondering was if anyone had tips on how to get chams to eat the greens on their own.

You can't "force" the chameleon to eat the greens, etc....all you can do is offer them to it and it will eat them if it wants to.

Okay, that makes more sense! I saw my veiled trying to munch on his fake plants in his cage so I put fresh greens in the spot I saw him try to eat. So when he came back he noticed and now he never tries to eat the fake stuff and he goes to the same spot every day and eats his veggies. Some people have snuck some veggies in while they're eating a bug to get them to try it. Some like it, but some don't.
