Feeding on Vacation

Hello, we have a 5 month old Panther Chameleon named Pablo. We have a bioactive enclosure with automatic timer lights and mister. We usually hand feed Pablo 15-20 crickets a day, one feeding in the morning and one feeding in the evening.

The reason for my post is we are going on vacation this month for about 10 days. We want to know if we get a cricket feeder and just put a bunch of crickets in it if that will work. Or should we find someone to come to the house and feed him in the morning and evening?

Please let me know what you think would work or if you need any additional information! Thanks!

Hi. You’ll need to find someone to come in to feed and check on him. I recently had a problem when my neighbor had to back out of watching mine at last minute. I checked with the nearby vet clinics, but it was a young guy who works at a pet supply store that was able to watch them. I did set up cameras in the house and let him know. Btw, he did awesome!

Im with Skittles. While im a monster and starve my adults during the week, you cant do that with a fast growing little guy. hes doubling in weight every 6-8 weeks.
Hes going to need a substantial meal every 3 days.

What i normally do is have deli cups pre filled with feeders and feeder food. Then all the mark has to do is poor said cup into the feeding section of the cage. And i just clean out all the old bug food etc when i get back.

I "tub feed" so its just a opaque plastic shoe box on the bottom of the cage with sticks criss crossing on top just incase the cham falls in and needs to get back out.
