Really cool statue!!!

I totally thought this would be a wild population post XD we supposedly have a wild population in California, about 10 miles away from me. Supposedly it's a small colony of jacksons.

Someone is shooting a dinosaur movie in a ghost town huh, that birdy better know how to fly away soon....

That is a really neat statue. And the bird sitting on the tongue makes it even cooler. I kind of feel like a kid now and want to sit on it and get a picture like you do with statues at the zoo and such..... :ROFLMAO:

I came across something today while browsing my Facebook feed... A really neat pic of a wood-carved chameleon! I remembered this post about the wood-carved chameleon statue here, and I also remembered user "brownie64" mentioning that they love woodcarving in the Lizard Lounge thread titled "What Are Your Other Hobbies or Interests?"

So I figured I would post this pic of the neat statue I found on FB, here on a thread that already contained a pic of a wood-carved statue, and I figured I would also tag @brownie64 so he can check it out as well because I know he loves that kind of thing. At first I thought it was two different pics of the same carving, but if you look closely, the one I found has a carved bug on the tip of it's tongue and the other one doesn't have that. Maybe done by the same person perhaps? Because the only other difference I really see is the bit of darker coloring on the back of one of them. Both are very very neat nonetheless. The one I found was shared on the "Chameleon Central USA" group on Facebook and the artist who carved it was named Ryan Anderson.

On his own page, he has some REALLY neat carvings. The dude does chainsaw carving competitions. He has won a lot of 1st place medals for his craftsmanship. Would be a very cool to have a piece like one of these out in a yard or garden.

The weather must have worn down the darker colors on the back as well then. I thought they looked identical except for the slight coloring and the bug.... but if the bug was broken off by vandals then it all makes sense now. I must have seen an older pic of it when it was first done. Had no idea. Thanks for the info! Ryan Anderson lives in Reedsport. I bet a lot of his work is all over that town. Really neat.

Thanks for the tag. Really neat indeed. I love it! Hay they are supposed to have a carving show in the little town of Converse Indiana on July 16-17 they usually have chainsaw carving there. It's only about an hour to an hour and a half from you. Thought you would like to know.

Yah it's like a festival they have food booths and such, but I would say it's more like a contest/show with beautiful works of art. The town is just west of were I live here in Marion you know the town next to Fairmount the home of James Dean. I'm sure you have probably been too that festival.

I've been through Marion countless times, and I probably have been to that festival. My father used to take us kids to all sorts of festivals when we were younger. Thanks!
