Not sure how you know "its not really that strong". Too vague. Is it a low watt bulb? What's the temp it produces at the basking perch? How do you measure the temp? If you stick your hand under the light and gage the heat level by how warm it feels that is going to cause problems. Remember, you are a mammal whose body temp is 98.6F. If your light feels warm on YOUR skin, it is probably too hot for your cham who has a much lower body temp.
