weird yellow mark on crest

Hi guys, i was just wondering if anyone has experienced this weird yellow stuff on their chameleon's crest?

Hi, What is your basking temp? How do you measure it? Do you put the thermometer or probe on the highest branch or vine directly under the light?

not too sure, i got a new basking bulb and its not really that strong

I would check your basking temps and area, it could be a burn.

It will also help if you could fill out the Questionnaire. Will link it below. My guess would be a burn also. You said you put in a new bulb? Please fill out with as much detail as possible. Temps. distances from lights. Name brands and ages, etc..

Not sure how you know "its not really that strong". Too vague. Is it a low watt bulb? What's the temp it produces at the basking perch? How do you measure the temp? If you stick your hand under the light and gage the heat level by how warm it feels that is going to cause problems. Remember, you are a mammal whose body temp is 98.6F. If your light feels warm on YOUR skin, it is probably too hot for your cham who has a much lower body temp.
