Veiled chameleon gagging sounds

Hello my female piebald veiled chameleon has just started to make weird noises and gagging sound she is around 7 months old I’m extremely worried and looking for vets right now to bring him to is this something I should be worried about I have a video of her doing it but I can’t seem to post it on here I can send directly if anyone can help ty

I’m not sure why your chameleon is doing that right now..but a checkup with a good chameleon vet is a good idea.

I can tell you though, that I would remove the moss and replace the artificial plants with real non toxic well washed one asap. Veiled females are famous for munching plants…especially when they are old enough to reproduce.

It would be a good idea to have a husbandry checkup done too…here’s the link…

Did you dig the holes in the lay bin or did she? Has she been digging at all? You will want to keep her temperatures no higher than 80F and be careful not to overfeed her constantly as well to prevent huge clutches from being produced and prevent follicular stasis and dystocia. The can lay eggs without being mated.

• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
• Location - Where are you geographically located?

Posting to help anybody going through same we made it to the vet and they prescribed ceftazdine injectable also just ordered a XL repti breeze and live plants from thebiodude sorry have been very busy running around here’s pictures of the xray if anyone is having the same issues.

SHe seems to be doing better every day I’m hearing not as much coughing we are going to get X-rays re done when he gets checked up again in a few days I’ve been fixing his cage up and just make sure she comfortable

Update pneumonia seems to be clearing now X-rays show eggs explains the restlessness digging at top of cage lay bin is in now wish the best!
