My son decided for lunch that pretzels would be delicious in his white rice.. I made an icky face so he Over exaggerated how good it was and then stopped eating it once I left the table. LOL

I dated a guy in HS who put syrup on his Mac N Cheese

Drinks..yea but wouldnt you choke on the things in it..Like the chunks of Meat? LOL.. (That so does not sound right in my head)..

Better than Rocky Mountain Oysters!!

I ate locusts, they like crunchy chicken. And usually eat chicken with rice, sometimes i eat it with a spoon:) bigger dose than eating with fork:) and if you eat half a kilo chicken a day its practical :D
Let me ask a question plz: how much does a kilo of steak costs in the US?

Not sure what a kilo is..except in drug terms from watching Cops..

lol

I'm live in one of the Prairie provinces in Canada, we just buy the whole damn cow (packaged of coarse and ready to eat)

my friend put a hot sauce in his water sometimes.
he is crazy :)
I love hot sauce and spicy food.. but not in my drinks.

What is weird or normal depends a great deal on the culture in which you were born. with the possible exception of tree fruit, which I think is a fairly universal enjoyment.

In a way, its kinda weird that we eat cows instead of just directly eating what we feed cows (its like using mantids as feeders, inefficient).

Cows have less protein % of mass than varoius insects, yet North americans see insects as a lesser food.

We suck the milk out of cow mammories and think of it as drink meant for people.

People eat the sex organs of fungus (better known as mushrooms).

We eat bottom feeding fish, shrimp, lobster - the garbage collectors of the sea.

I like to eat mustard sandwichs (just bread and mustard), which I'm told is wierd.

We do have some weird fruits as well in Indo that make people gag eating it.
Personally, I am not a big fan of the fruit. But, most of my American friends think it smells like a poo.
I don't understand it. If their poo smell like the fruit, then it's a good smell. :D

But, i don't argue that the edible part of the fruit do suggest a certain shape. The taste is very sweet and buttery.

i better stop be4 the conversation becomes disgusting.

Here is the fruit i'm talking about.
all SE Asian people will recognized this fruit:
malaysia-durian.jpg

Those are real spikes btw. You do NOT want to be under the tree when the durian season arrives.
The fruit fell when they are ripe.
There have been fatalities involving durian and people's head.

lol, its so true Sandra!

a kilo is 1000g of anything....1 kg is 2.205 pounds (hope this is the right spelling).

I saw David Atenborough eating a durian, he told it was "too sweet" and like caramel.

Hmm. well here steak is about 3.99 a pound. Cheaper for less quality, a little more for like Angus or higher quality. Sometimes as much as 6.99/lb for Tbone. These are like grocer prices. Haven't been to a butcher yet.

Wierd / Unique / Delicious foods ... lol

kraft dinner + hotdogs slices

Rice + Franks red hot, hot sauce

Nothing too wierd :p

I love peppers, but not by themselfs / eaten... i like the flavor they give to food when its cooked with it (Hot wings, with franks red hot, and peppers on it) I just sauce them up, and put them in the oven with jalapenos, chllie peppers, and a bunch of differant chiles... Very delicious - and really hot... Oooh plus i add 'Shake n Bake : Cajun" haha

Meant to add this - sorry for double posting...

We had a foster kid (My mom is a foster parent) And he liked ketchup sandwiches, or just ketchup... i did not understand why... His family was poor, and maybe thats alls they could afford? Im not sure.. Thats a pretty wierd food - although i made one, and it wasnt that bad

I think Marmite and salt & vinegar crisps make a great sandwich!! Yum!

Marmite...you either love it or you hate it! haha

But yea..the weirdest thing I eat would have to be menudo (mexican soup with tripe and stuff), then my macorni and cheese and tuna... gotta try that one..its awesome.

As for fruits...theres tons...When I went to Mexico we had cactus drinks on a regular basis and I also eat Jicama regularly here in Cali. But yea..it all culture...but its all culture because those cultures are bound by regions...regions that are subject to certain temp and climate changes... Soon we will all be able to eat everything everyone else does around the world and nothing will be "weird"

P.S. Still waiting to try that deadly puffer fish in China...

cactus drink is pretty good.
i never eat fugu as well. But, they said that the exquisite taste comes from the poison in the fish.
That is why it has to be prepared by a VERY VERY experienced chef.
He has to cut all the poisonous parts of the fish while leaving a just enough poison in the fish to give the tingling taste when eaten without killing the person who eat it.

Fugu is big in japan.
Menudo... is uhhhh... yeah.. no thanks. :p
I tried once and that is enough.
weirdest thing i ate is Monitor lizard soup and python ginger soup.
I ate them once when I was a kid... Not exactly the best but not bad either.

Never eat insects.. although i am interested to do it at least once in the future.

Haha to clear up the eating soup with a fork- i eat everything in the soup first then drink the broth.

Living in southern Louisiana i love crawfish! I have been wanting some for a while and when i went to the grocery store last night it smelled like them! i still haven't gotten any they are just too expensive still.:(
